JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. — Eagles beach volleyball pair Morgan Foy and Camryn Ehlers were named South Atlantic Conference Pair of the Week on Tuesday.
Foy and Ehlers pair of the week honor marks the second week in a row that C-N has secured the award. Emerson Ahsmuhs and Trinity Hafey were the winners following the Eagles opening weekend.
"Morgan and Camryn had a great weekend," said head coach Cat Collins. "They played so well together and their chemistry is growing. It is a joy to see them succeed and compete against such high level teams."
Foy and Ehlers were a standout freshman pair coming out of last season and quickly cemented themselves as one of the top pairs in the South Atlantic Conference.
In the Eagles second meet of the season at Coastal Carolina, Foy and Ehlers finished with a 2-2 record with the two losses coming against Division I opponents. The pair kept it close with Coastal Carolina taking the second match to extra sets before eventually falling to the Chanticleers. Foy and Ehlers dominated in their match against Erskine, winning in two sets and only allowing a combined 15 points. The pair also secured the only Eagles victory in the match versus College of Charleston where the pair won 21-12, 21-18.
Carson-Newman takes the courts again on Feb. 28 - Mar. 1 where the Eagles make the road trip to Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va. The first day's matches against Lynchburg and Liberty will take place in the East Athletic Conference beginning at 12:00 p.m. The second day's matches are set at the Liberty Mountain Intramural Courts with tipoff at 8:00 a.m.
