JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman makes the trip to the Palmetto State for a two-day clash at Coastal Carolina University on Friday, Feb. 21 beginning at 8:00 am.
C-N beach volleyball travels for the first time this season to Conway, S.C. for a two-day meet at Coastal Carolina University at the Coastal Carolina Volleyball Complex.
The Eagles are slated to face off against University of Louisiana-Monroe and Coastal Carolina on Friday. Saturday sees the Eagles take on Flying Fleet of Erskine and the College of Charleston Cougars.
"We are going to see very tough competition this weekend," said head coach Cat Collins. "This team has every ability to compete at this high of level. We pride ourselves on how hard we work and I'm hopeful that will pay off this weekend."
Starting on Friday, C-N takes the court against ULM with an 8:00 am start time. This marks the first time Carson-Newman has faced off against ULM since C-N's inaugural beach volleyball season where the Eagles fell to the Warhawks 0-5.
4:00 PM is set as the start time for the Eagles match against the Chanticleers. This will be the fifth ever series matchup between the Eagles and Chanticleers with the Eagles yet to find the victory column in the series.
"This team is excited to be pushed and have the ability to rise to the occasion," said Collins.
Following the two Division I matchup on the first day of competition, C-N will face familiar opponents on the second day.
Carson-Newman goes head-to-head against the Erskine Flying Fleet beginning at 12:00 pm. C-N holds a 6-1 record in the series against Erskine with the only loss coming back in 2019. This will be the first of three matches versus the Flying Fleet for the Eagles this season.
The final match of the road trip comes against the College of Charleston Cougars. Carson-Newman last took on the Cougars in 2019 where the C-N was swept in the match. C-N is winless against the Cougars and looks to change that this weekend.
The Eagles make the trip to Coastal Carolina this Friday, Feb. 21-22 for a two-matchup against all levels of competition.
