Men receive highest ranking ever in final CSCAA poll

JEFFERSON CITY, TN – The Carson-Newman swim team has been ranked 14th on the men's side and 17th on the women's by the College Swim Coaches of America Association.

The No. 14 spot for the men is the highest ranking the team has ever received.

"It definitely helps give the team a boost leading into conference," Carson-Newman coach Taylor said. "It shows that our great results through the season have been noticed and that we are building through the season well."

The women's side remained at its previous spot while the men climbed from No.16 in the country.

"It's great to be continued to be ranked so high and show the depth and quality of both our programs," Taylor said. "Now that we are heading into championship season, we can work to reach our full potential and rank even higher.

The poll aims to measure the top teams in head-to-head competition. The rankings are voted on by CSCAA-member coaches.

The rankings come just ahead of the team's trip to the Bluegrass Mountain Conference Championships in Charlotte, North Carolina from Feb. 13 to Feb. 16.
