Wylie takes advantage of fall signing period by signing Scealf

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn – Carson-Newman men's golf has announced the addition of recruit Luke Scealf, a Knoxville native who signed on with C-N during the fall signing period.

"Luke is a fine young man and an excellent player," coach Randy Wylie said. "He comes from a Carson-Newman family. I'm very excited to add him to our program"

Scealf joins the Eagles following a four year career at Grace Christian Academy, during which time he was a four-time all-district and all-region selection. His last two years in high school also saw him earn spots on the all-state roster and his 2015 season included a top five finish in the state golf tournament. Scealf racked up 22 top ten finishes during his high school career and participated in over 40 nationally ranked tournaments while posting a stroke average of 71.3.

The Knoxville native is set to become the second member of his family to participate in athletics at Mossy Creek. His father, Greg, was a member of the football team in 1984 and '85.

Scealf is planning on majoring in sports management at Carson-Newman.
