Forster adds to postseason laurels with PING All-Southeast Region accolades

NORMAN, Okla. – Carson-Newman freshman men's golfer Tom Forster (Oundle, England) has been named to the Golf Coaches Association of American Division II PING All-Southeast Region team.

Forster follows up Andrew Hall's all-region honors from last season.

Forster was named South Atlantic Conference Freshman of the Year and was a first-team All-SAC selection.

He crafted the fifth-best stroke average in the conference at 72.2 strokes and ended the year on a streak of five consecutive top 10 finishes with six total to his credit for the season.

Forster scored under par in five tournaments.  His best effort came at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate when he finished second at nine-under, two shots behind teammate Jake Headrick.  Forters's three-round 207 is one of the top  10 three-round scores in South Atlantic Conference history and would have been the second best score in school history if not for Headrick's efforts.

His second round 66 in Sevierville tied for the lowest 18 hole score by an Eagle during the year.

Forster was two-under at the end of the 2017 NCAA South/Southeast Super Regional, the Eagles highest finisher.
