Beach hosts Catawba and Erskine for home opener

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - Riding a 7-game winning streak, and a 7-1 season record, C-N beach will play host to Catawba and Erskine this coming Friday and Saturday when they will also debut their new program facilities.

This weekend will mark the first SAC competition of the season, against the Catawba Indians.

Carson-Newman will face Catawba at 11 am on Friday morning, and Erskine at 3 pm. The following day holds two more matches for the Eagles, against Catawba at 9 am and Erskine at 1 pm.

The Carson-Newman beach facility was moved in late summer to the west end zone of the practice football field below the MSAC.

The Eagles have seen Erskine once already this season, winning the game 4-1. Flights one, two, and three clinched their matches in two sets a piece, and flight four won in three sets. Erskine's sole victory came from seed five.

The Catawba Indians are 2-0 this season, after collecting two sweeps in their season opener on Tuesday.

The Eagles and the Indians matched up only one time last season at the SAC Beach Challenge in early April. Carson-Newman clinched the match 3-0. C-N is currently running a 6 game winning streak against Catawba.

Matches will begin at 11 am on Friday morning. For more updates on Carson-Newman's beach volleyball team, visit CNEagles.com or follow Carson-Newman Athletics on social media.
