JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - Carson-Newman beach volleyball finished 0-2 after day one of the UNA Invitational. They went 1-4 against North Alabama, the hosts of the weekend, and also 1-4 against Austin Peay.
Despite some close fought sets in both matches, the Eagles could only manage to grasp a singular seed win in both games.
In their first match of the day against UNA, Morgan Foy and Camry Ehlers defeated McLaurin and Anderson in the fourth seed to capture Carson-Newman's only win.
In the third flight, Paige Halcrow and Mckenna Hall battled to three sets but could not clinch in the final.

In match two of the day, C-N dropped four seeds but claimed a win in the third flight.
Mckenna Hall and Paige Halcrow defeated Pelak and Powell in three sets, two of which went to extra points.
To earn the hard fought win, Halcrow and Paige battled to a 24-22 third set finish.
