Beach travels for midweek matches at Catawba College

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - Following a challenging weekend in Florence, Alabama at the UNA Invitational, the Carson-Newman Eagles depart to Salisbury, N.C for a showdown at Catawba College this Wednesday. The Eagles will face Catawba at 1 pm and Richard Bland at 3 pm. 

C-N played Catawba just 10 days ago, for the second time this season. The Eagles have defeated the Indians for the past eights matchups straight, dating back to 2021. Catawba has not won in the series with C-N since 2021. 

The Indians are 3-7 this season so far and 2-0 at home. The went 3-1 last weekend at Berry College, dropping matches to Berry, Florida Southern, and Truett-McConnell. 

 Richard Bland will be a new opponent for the Eagles, a division II team from Petersburg, VA. 

They are 13-3 on the season so far and on a two game losing streak. C-N and Richard Bland have had only two mutual opponents this season, Liberty and Spartanburg Methodist. Richard Bland lost to the Flames 1-4, taking a win in the fifth seed. Similarly to the Eagles, Richard Bland defeated Spartanburg Methodist 5-0.
