JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - After a Friday and Saturday spent in Florence, Alabama, Carson-Newman beach closed the weekend out with a 0-4 record. 

"The weekend was tough teams and great competition." said head coach Cat Collins. "We saw offensive systems that we don't normally see, which is a good learning experience. We havea  busy weekend ahead of us and we will use everything we learned from this weekend to help us be more successful."

The Eagles faced two Division I competitiors, matching with Austin Peay and North Alabama twice a piece over the two day Invitiational. 

On Friday, C-N finished 1-4 against both Austin Peay and North Alabama. 

In match one on Saturday, the hosts of the Invitational showed dominance and did not allow a set to be earned by the Eagles.

Carson-Newman switched up their lineup a tad for game two of the day, swapping Camryn Ehlers and Kat Nelson in the fourth seed and fifth seeds. 

The combo of Jenny Ille and Ava Fountain in the third flight were the closest Eagle pair to securing a win. They took Pelak and Powell to a third set decider, but APSU sealed the deal at 15-13 in the final frame.
