Beach set to face tough competition in Alabama.

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - After their home debut weekend going 4-0, the Eagles will venture to Florence, Alabama this Friday and Saturday for matches against Austin Peay and the University of North Alabama. 

On Friday, C-N will play UNA at 9 am and Austin Peay at 3 pm. On Saturday, they will face UNA at 9 am and Austin Peay at 11 am. 

Friday will note the first meeting with UNA in program history. The Division I competition from Florence, Ala. has performed a 5-3 overall record so far this season. They went 2-2 in their tournament last weekend. They found victory against Houston Christian (4-1) and Nebraska (5-0) but lost 1-4 to LSU and 2-3 to Tulane. 

The last time the Eagles met with Austin Peay was early in the 2022 regular season in Clarksville, Tenn. C-N dropped the match 0-5. The last time the Eagles have taken a set from the Govs was in 2017, in their first recorded match. Carson-Newman was swept in their matches in 2019 and 2018. The Clarksville team rules the series with Carson-Newman 4-0.

The Govs are 3-4 so far this season, riding a four game losing streak. They are 0-1 away and 3-3 in neutral site competitions.
