JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn – One more tournament remains on the fall schedule for the Carson-Newman women's golf team, the Newberry College Regional Preview, and it brings the group to The Members Club at Woodcreek in Elgin, S.C.

"We can do well," coach Suzanne Strudwick said. "We're not traveling that far away. We'll get an extra night in our own beds, which is good. If we can finish in the top seven, I'll be pleased."

This event comes on the heels of the team's last event, the Flagler Fall Slam in Jacksonville, Fla., which took place on Oct. 24th and 25th. The Eagles finished in a tie for 11th at that competition.

Elizabeth England (Oakland, Tenn.) has served as the leader for the team on the course this fall and she's posted C-N's best finishes the squad's last two times out. She finished tied for 12th in Jacksonville after shooting a plus-seven 151. A little over a month ago, England picked up her third career win in the King (Tenn.) Intercollegiate, setting a South Atlantic Conference record with a 68 in her final round.

Sophomore Taylor Hayes (Lake Ozark, Mo.) finished with C-N's second best score in the fall slam, as she tied for 48th with a score of 17-over. She is just one tournament removed from her sixth career top ten finish, as she finish tied for tenth in the King Intercollegiate.

Reagan Kinnie (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) entered Jacksonville following an outstanding performance in the King event. The freshman finished second, just four strokes behind England, but was unable to duplicate that success in her team's most recent tournament. Kinnie shot 19-over par and finished tied for 55th.

Freshman Allie Fletcher (Cumming, Ga) tied for 64th in the Flagler Fall Slam after posting C-N's second-best score in round one and Jessica Hart (Roanoke, Va.) came in 77th. Both players are looking to finish the fall strong. Rachel Watts (Newport, Tenn.), who placed 87th in Jacksonville, will be participating as an individual for the second straight tournament, meaning her stats will not count towards the team score.

The field in Elgin is made up of 12 teams, include fellow SAC members Newberry, Tusculum and Wingate. The event will consist of 36 holes, with round one on Monday and round two on Tuesday.

Recaps of the action on both days will be posted on cneagles.com.
