Eagles Fall to No. 24 Trojans

ANDERSON, S.C. - Carson-Newman women's tennis (0-10) drops their matchup with #24 Anderson University on Saturday, Mar. 18th.

Doubles

Natasha Forrest and Julia Speiser paired up for the fifth time this season when they took on Alexandria Braithwaite and Kristen Reynolds. The Eagles pair won 6-4 to advance to 4-1 this season.

Mollie Edge and Summer Reeves took on Anna Greer and Mariam Bayatyan in the second doubles matchup. Greer and Bayatyan won 6-2.

The Eagles forfeited the final doubles set, awarding the point to the Trojans.

Singles

Forrest won her seventh singles point of the season when she took on Bayatyan in the two spot. Forrest won in sets of 6-3 and 6-1 to advance to 6-2 in the two spot this season.

Reeves saw Katie Robeson in the three spot. Reeves dropped the first set 6-3 but responded with a 6-3 second-set victory. Reeves won the point with a 6-3 third set to earn Carson-Newman's second point of the day.

Chornei lined up in the one spot for the eighth time this season. She lost to Greer in sets of 6-1 and 7-6. Speiser matched up against Braithewaite in the four spot. Braithewaite won the final two sets 6-1 and 6-2. Edge took on Valentina Borda in the five spot. Borda won 6-4, 5-7, and 10-5.

Carson-Newman will return to the Buddy Catlett Tennis Complex for a home match against Coker (1-9) on Mar. 25th.
