A Trio of Eagles Earn a Spot on the ITA's National Ranking

ITA National Rankings (Mar. 22)

TEMPE, Ariz. - Carson-Newman women's tennis (0-10) features an ITA NCAA Division II Ranked Singles player for the third time this season. Anita Chornei is the ITA's 51st-ranked player. Summer Reeves and Natasha Forrest are the ITA's 46th-ranked duos players.

Chornei has been a bright spot for the Eagles in an otherwise dark season for Carson-Newman. The Kyiv, Ukraine, native has won four of her ten matchups this season, with a pair of victories at Carson-Newman's one spot.

Chornei holds a career record of 30-16 through three seasons. Chornei currently sits eighth in program history for career wins. Chornei's most notable win was when she took down the #24 ranked player in Lee's Ashleigh Simes. Chornei is 1-0 against nationally ranked opponents and 2-0 against regionally ranked opponents this season.

Natasha Forrest and Summer Reeves are the ITA's 46th-ranked duo players. The pair is ranked for the second time this season. Forrest and Reeves are 2-3 as a duo this season. Their most recent victory was on Feb. 19th when the pair took down Simone Mercier and Meghan Mallath 7-6.

Forrest leads the Eagles in singles victories with eight. She has seen most of her work as Carson-Newman's two-player, with a record of 7-2. Reeves is second on the team in singles victories with seven. She has won six straight, holds a record of 5-3 in the three spot, and 2-1 in the four.

Carson-Newman women's tennis will seek their first win when they return to Mossy Creek on Mar. 25th against Coker University (2-10).
