JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – For the 10th time in 2025, Carson-Newman baseball (37-17) is ranked by DII Baseball, checking in at 23 in the latest poll released Monday afternoon.
Head coach Tom Griffin had led the program to a 37-17 record this season. It's C-N's most wins in a season since 2008 and the second-most in a season in the Griffin era. Overall, it's the program's fourth-most wins in a season in program history. The Eagles compiled their most wins in a conference regular season, winning 21 games in league play this season. 21 of the 37 wins for the year have been at home, the third-most home wins for the program since turning to DII.
The Eagles are joined in the rankings by two South Atlantic Conference teams. Lenoir-Rhyne and Catawba each moved up a spot to seven and eight, respectively.
Carson-Newman is one of nine Southeast region schools ranked. Young Harris is the highest ranked school from Conference Carolinas at number nine. North Greenville slots in at 12 while Belmont Abbey and Francis Marion sneak in at the last two spots. North Georgia is the highest rated Peach Belt team at 13, with Lander jumping six spots to no. 19.
The Eagles must wait a week to find out whether or not their 37-win season will be enough to earn a NCAA Tournament bid. The NCAA will release one more set of region rankings on Wednesday, before the final rankings come out on Sunday May 11 at 10:30 p.m.
