
Griffin announces a pair of winter camps
Carson-Newman head baseball coach Tom Griffin has announced a pair of winter camps set to take place at the Silver Diamond Baseball Complex in November.
JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman head baseball coach Tom Griffin has announced a pair of winter camps set to take place at the Silver Diamond Baseball Complex in November.
The first camp is Griffin's Catch, Block Throw Catching camp on November 9th and 10th. The camp will start at 9:00 a.m. and conclude at 2:00 p.m. Check-in will begin on Saturday at 8:00 a.m. The price for the camp is $225 dollars and is open to 7th through 12th graders.
This is an intense catching camp that is designed for catchers who want to learn techniques and drills to take them to the next level.
Coach Griffin has more than 25 years of coaching experience at the college level. He has been a catching instructor and speaker at various camps and clinics in the United States and Canada. Griffin is the producer of "Catch It, Block It, Throw It," an instructional catching video. Follow his Twitter account of @catchblockthrow for tips and other insights. The second camp is a Winter Prospect camp that will take place on Saturday, November 16th. The cost of the camp is $125 dollars for position players and $75 dollars for pitchers.
Position players will go from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., while pitchers will throw from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. This prospect camp is for 2025, 2026, 2027 and post graduates.
