JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – No. 21 Carson-Newman (14-4, 7-2 SAC) plays its first road game of March when it visits Trevecca Nazarene (6-10, 4-5 GSC) Tuesday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. at Jackson Field in Nashville.

Carson-Newman is back on the road where it is 3-3 this season and 1-2 in road contest affairs. Exactly one month ago, the Eagles won their first non-conference game of the season against Shorter. C-N exploded for 18 runs in the first road win of the year, run-ruling the Hawks 18-2 in seven frames.

Crooked numbers has been a major theme of this year's start to the season. Carson-Newman has scored four runs or more an inning on 19 different occasions and has impressively not allowed its opponent to score four or more times in any single inning this season. To put this into perspective, C-N only did this 17 times all of a last season in 50 games.

Trey Miller (Rocky Point, NY) has been on a tear in 2025. He leads the Eagles with a .462 batting average and has a team-high 24 hits. After just 8 RBI last season, he already has 21 this season including 5 games with multiple runs batted in.

The Eagles won the first meeting versus the Trojans back on Feb 8. C-N won the low-scoring affair 3-1 thanks to back-to-back RBI base hits from Logan Floyd (Adairsville, Ga) and Tanner Kilgore (Kingsport, Tenn.) in the 7th inning. The pitching staff combined to allow just one run on seven hits with six strikeouts and just two free passes allowed. Jackson Underwood headlined C-N's pitching performance, tossing four scoreless relief innings to earn the win.

Trevecca Nazarene welcomes Carson-Newman to Jackson Field after winning two of its three games in a weekend series with Montevallo. Its only loss in the series came by just one-run, with all three decided by three runs or less. The Trojans are 6-10 overall this season with a 2-5 record in non-conference games. Five of those contests are against SAC schools in which they have lost all five. The other games against the SAC are against Lenoir-Rhyne on opening weekend and Lincoln Memorial last Tuesday.

Despite ten losses this season, five of those have come in games decided by three runs or less. 11 of the 16 games have been on the road where the Trojans are 2-9. In just four home games, TNU is 3-1.

Joey Parliment is the top hitter for TNU. He bats .409 in 16 games this season and has a team-high 27 hits. Three other hitters have a batting average above .300. Five players have double-digit RBI led by Luke Dymond's 19. TNU hits .289 as a team and has the fifth-most home runs in the Gulf South Conference with 15.

Trevecca Nazarene's pitching staff sports a 6.63 earned run average and a 1.80 WHIP. They walk just four batters per nine innings, the third-best mark in the GSC. Three different relievers have sub 3 ERA's, headlined by Logan Harrell's 1.23 earned run average over 14.2 innings out of the bullpen.

First pitch between the Trojans and Eagles is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
