Eagles Finish Tied for 10th Following Third Round of The City with Spirit Fall Classic

CLEVELAND, Tenn. – The Carson-Newman women's golf team finished tied for 10th at The City with Spirit Fall Classic following Tuesday afternoon's final round of action.

"The conditions were tough," head coach Bo Harris said. "We played much better than we scored. We certainly learned a lot about ourselves today, and I look forward to working on a few things during practice in the next couple of weeks."

Macy Bromley led the Eagles, shooting an 80 on the final day of action to finish tied for 17th. Bromley's front nine featured four holes over par, but she tallied two birdies, including one on hole nine, to enter the final stretch at 3-over. On the back nine, the sophomore matched a bogey with a birdie on the first two holes, but two holes over par down the stretch put her at 8-over in round three, finishing the event at 10-over.

Madison Cline tied for 29th, shooting an 82 in the final round to finish at 17-over. While Cline and the rest of the Eagles dealt with rough course conditions, Cline responded to adversity with six pars and a birdie in the final round.

Annaelle Picot came next, tying for 57th with an 82 in the final round to finish the event at 25-over. Like Cline, Picot overcame the tough conditions and tallied 11 pars despite adding ten strokes. Despite a handful of holes over par, she limited the damage with her holes at par to finish the round at 10-over.

Ida Petersen finished the two-day event in 59th, following an 85-stroke final round to finish the event at 26-over, and Sydney Thomas closed out her Eagle debut with an 88 in round three to finish in 88th at 49-over.

The Eagles showed significant promise, especially on the first day of action, to build momentum early in the fall season.

C-N will take a few weeks off and return to the course on October 7th at the Leeann Noble Memorial.
