C-N Heads to the Tar Heel State for Jerry Surrate Memorial

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – After a month off, Carson-Newman women's golf looks to build on the early momentum in its second outing of the spring, heading to the Jerry Surrate Memorial in Monroe, North Carolina, on Monday and Tuesday.

The Eagles return to action after earning an impressive 2nd place finish at the Battle at Hilton Head, led by two top ten finishes from Anaelle Picot (5th) and Ida Petersen (10th). The solid start to the spring season has the Eagles trending in the right direction, moving up to No. 30 in the latest Division II poll.

C-N heads back to a familiar course, traveling to the Stonebridge Golf Club last season and earning a 5th place finish. Ida Petersen helped pace C-N with an 8th place finish, shooting 3-over in an impressive three-round effort. Madison Cline finished in 21st, stroking a 72 in the third round to finish the event at 10-over.

As a team, C-N improved each round to finish 5th. The Eagles shot 303 as a team in round one, 301 in round two, and a tournament-best 288 in the final round of play to finish in the top five.

Anaelle Picot, Ida Petersen, Madison Cline, Emery Fisher, and Sydney Thomas will be the five for the Eagles on Monday, looking to build on a stellar first event under first-year head coach Alyssa Montgomery.
