Eagles Put Together Team Effort, Sit in 8th After Day One of LeeAnn Noble Memorial

DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The Carson-Newman women's golf team sits in 8th following a solid team effort on day one of the LeeAnn Noble Memorial.

"I couldn't be happier with how the girls stepped up," head coach Bo Harris said. "It was a real team effort today, and we are looking to keep that going against this solid field tomorrow."

Leading the Eagles is sophomore Emery Fisher, sitting tied for 23rd at 1-over. Fisher started the day nicely, stroking a birdie and eight consecutive pars to enter the back nine at 1-under. On the back nine, Fisher carded a double bogey but canceled it with two birdies and the other holes at par to finish the round at 1-under.

In round two, the sophomore had an equally impressive front nine, erasing an early bogey with two birdies to enter the day's final stretch at 1-under. On the back nine, Fisher birdied but added three strokes on four bogeys to finish the round at 2-over.

Sophomore Macy Bromley delivered another impressive performance, finishing day one in 31st at 3-over. Bromley stroked eight straight pars to start her day before a bogey to end the front nine at 1-over. Bromley tallied a birdie on the back nine but added three strokes on a double bogey and two bogeys to finish the round at 4-over.

Bromley had a much improved second round, stroking all nine holes at par on the front nine to enter the day's final stretch at even par. Bromley dropped a stroke on the back nine courtesy of two birdies, limiting the damage of a mid-round bogey to finish the round at 1-under.

Ida Petersen finished the day tied for 41st at 4-over. Petersen shot five bogeys on the front nine but tallied back-to-back birdies to limit the damage and finish the front nine at 3-over. Petersen dropped a pair of strokes on the back nine, tallying three birdies to one bogey and the other holes at par to finish the round at 1-over.

In the second round, the junior matched a trio of bogeys with three birdies and three pars to enter the final stretch at even par. Petersen started the back nine with six straight pars and added a late birdie. However, a bogey and a triple bogey added three strokes to her total to finish the round at 3-over.

Madison Cline slots in shortly after in 44th at 5-over. Cline's front nine featured three bogeys, but a birdie and the other holes at par limited the damage to send her to the back nine at 2-over. The junior was stellar on the back nine, stroking an early birdie and eight straight pars to drop a stroke and finish the round at 1-over.

In round two, Cline had a pair of holes over par but limited the damage with a late birdie and six pars to enter the day's final stretch at 2-over. On the back nine, Cline added a pair of strokes on a double bogey but stroked the other holes at par to finish the round at 4-over.

Rounding out the Eagles' five is Annaelle Picot, sitting in 45th at 6-over. In round one, Picot added four strokes on the front nine with two bogeys and a double bogey but shot the other holes at par to enter the back nine at 4-over. Picot stroked two early bogeys on the back nine, but a late birdie and the other holes at par limited the damage as she finished the round at 5-over.

In round two, Picot was stellar on the front nine with a birdie on hole one before eight straight pars to enter the back nine at 1-under. Picot stroked an early birdie on the back nine to limit the damage of a double bogey and a bogey to finish the round at 1-over.

The Eagles will look to finish the tournament strong in the final round starting tomorrow at 8 a.m.
