JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Director of golf Randy Wylie has revealed the 2025 spring schedule for the C-N women's golf team, featuring many familiar courses for the Eagles, who return a lot of talent.
"We've got a lot of returning players," Wylie said. "I think that's really going to help us with the courses we are familiar with, which is most of the schedule… One of the new tournaments is in Salisbury where we played conference last year, so it's a course we know very well even though it's a new tournament for us this year… We've got plenty of experience, and I feel like they had a good fall and it's something to build on to have some good finishes in the spring."
C-N starts the season on February 17th and 18th, competing in the Battle at Hilton Head in at the Robert Trent Jones at Palmetto Dunes in Hilton Head, South Carolina. C-N competed in the event last season, finishing tied for 5th following an impressive team performance. Madison Cline and Ida Petersen carded improved rounds on the second day of action, helping Petersen finish in the top ten while Cline finished in the top 30. The Eagles jumped two spots courtesy of the low rounds on the second day to finish the event in the top five.
"We've gotten to the point where we don't count many scores in the 80s," Wylie said. "We've started to get rounds in the 70s almost every tournament round, which is fantastic. That has really helped us to be better at the back end of the lineup."
The Eagles take almost a month off before returning to action on March 10th and 11th at the Jerry Surrate Memorial at the Stonebridge Golf Club in Monroe, North Carolina. It was another 5th place finish for C-N at the Jerry Surrate Memorial last season, marking back-to-back top five finishes to start the spring season. Ida Petersen finished 8th with three rounds in the low 70s, while Madison Cline finished 21st following a stellar third round.
A new challenge comes for C-N the next week on March 17th and 18th, as the Eagles compete in the Oldfield Intercollegiate in Okatie, South Carolina. The event featured a stout field a year ago, including No. 5 SCAD-Savannah who won the event at 49-over as a team.
The Eagles round out their regular season on March 24th and 25th at the Patsy Rendleman Invitational at the Salisbury Country Club in Salisbury, North Carolina. While it is a new tournament for a C-N, it is not an unfamiliar course. The Eagles played at the Salisbury Country Club in the SAC Championships in 2024, earning a 6th place team finish. Despite dropping three spots on the final day, C-N was paced by then freshman Macy Bromley who notched a top 20 finish to close out her freshman season.
The Eagles conclude the season on April 6th through 8th at the SAC Championships in Greenville, South Carolina. It's another new course for C-N, but the Eagles will look to earn a solid finish in the conference as it did last season in Salisbury.
Going into the season, Wylie has been encouraged by his team's growth and development throughout the fall and in the offseason, hoping C-N can translate that development into the spring.
"They've gotten really good at short game," Wylie said. "They've gotten really smart… Our freshmen last year are no longer freshmen and they're playing with experience now, which is really fun to watch… They've figured out how to score and keep their head in the game and manage themselves so even if they're not having the best day, they can still help the team."
The Eagles kick off their spring season on February 17th and 18th at the Battle at Hilton Head in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
