JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – In the second poll of the year, Carson-Newman has cracked the top ten in the United Soccer Coaches' Southeast Region rankings poll that was released earlier today.

The Eagles earn the number ten spot in the rankings thanks to their recent stretch of quality play. Simon Duffy's team has won three consecutive games and has outscored opponents 7-1. The defense has also shined as of late, securing back to back clean sheets this past week.

C-N's lone loss this season is against the number one team in the region rankings, Columbus State.

Carson-Newman is one of four South Atlantic Conference schools listed in the second batch of USC region rankings. Catawba and Lenoir-Rhyne are second and third with 2-0-2 records.

Lander, North Georgia and Flagler make up the middle part of the poll. Wingate is the third highest ranked SAC team at seventh, with Clayton State and Mount Olive both unbeaten to secure spots eight and nine.

Carson-Newman will battle another ranked team nationally and in the region on the road tomorrow evening against Catawba. First touch from Salisbury, North Carolina is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. A live stream of the game is available with a subscription to FloSports.
