JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn - 10-year Major League Baseball veteran and 1965 Carson-Newman graduate Clyde Wright sat down with Eagles Sports Network broadcaster Michael Wottreng to recall some of his fondest memories while playing at Carson-Newman. Wright was the Most Valuable Player of the 1965 NAIA World Series in which the Eagles defeated Nebraska-Omaha 3-2.

Wright still holds the record for strikeouts in a game with 22, strikeouts in the tournament with 37 and innings pitched in one game with 13.

The Jefferson City, Tenn. native went on to pitch 10 seasons in Major League Baseball where he hurled the second no-hitter in California Angels history, won a club record 22 games, pitched in the 1970 All-Star Game and won 100 games.

Wright delves into stories about playing for Frosty Holt, his vantage point on the famous Pete Rose collision with Ray Fosse and a lot more.
