Rain pellets in Mossy Creek cancel baseball's final home game

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - The Carson-Newman baseball team was forced to cancel its final home game of the season that was scheduled for Wednesday at 2 p.m. against the Shorter Hawks due to a heavy dose of rain droplets tumbling from the sky in Mossy Creek over the last 12 hours.

The Eagles have no more scheduled home games for the 2015 season as head coach Tom Griffin's group is 16-7 at the Silver Diamond Baseball Complex including wins in their last six contests played at the friendly confines.

The Eagles will play for their South Atlantic Conference tournament lives as Carson-Newman is currently the eighth seed as the top-eight teams in the league make it to postseason play when C-N travles to Wingate for the first of a three-game series Friday at 6 p.m.
