Eagles Finish Tied for Fourteenth at McDonough Cup

WINTER PARK, Fla. – The Carson-Newman Eagles men's golf team finished tied for 14th place following the third and final round at the McDonough Cup at Eagle Creek Golf Club hosted by Rollins University on Tuesday.

Senior Jonathan Kim-Moss (Mississauga, Canada) had his fourth straight top-10 finish as he came in tied for second place in the tournament, as he shot 5-under-par for the tournament, finishing only four strokes back of the winner Robert Prior of Lander who was 9-under-par for the tournament.

Kim-Moss finished his solid tournament with a 1-under-par 71, and he was at or under-par in all three rounds played at Eagle Creek Golf Club.

The tie for second is also the second consecutive top-five finish for Kim-Moss after he finished in fifth place at last week's TVA Credit Union Classic in Florence, Ala.

Senior Rafael Jackson (Rutledge, Tenn) also finished in the top-30 of the tournament. He shot an even-par 72 to close out his play in Florida, good for a tie for 29th place shooting 3-over-par for the tournament.

Sophomore Corey Bray (Caryville, Tenn) had a nine-stroke difference between his second round and Tuesday's third round, posting an 8-over-par 80 to close out his tournament, and he finished tied for 70th.

Also tying Bray for 70th place was fellow sophomore Nathan Hodge (Jefferson City, Tenn.). On Tuesday Hodge came back with his second-best round of the tournament, posting a 4-over-par 76.

Sophomore Nicklaus Kennedy (London, Ontario, Canada) turned in his second-best round of the tournament on Tuesday, with a 5-over-par 77 and he finished in 83rd place.
