Eagles Finish Rendleman Invitational

SALISBURY, N.C. – The Carson-Newman Eagles men's golf team finished with a second round score of 305 and a combined score of 622 to finish in a tie for 12th place at the 23rd annual Richard Rendleman Invitational at the Salisbury Country Club on Tuesday.

The Eagles finished tied with Lincoln Memorial in 12th place, and Carson-Newman was 24 strokes back of Limestone, who won the event with a score of 598.

Carson-Newman was led by senior Jonathan Kim-Moss (Mississauga, Canada), who shot a 5-over-par 76 for the second straight day, and he finished tied for 12th place.

Kim-Moss finished only 10 strokes back of Wingate's Benedict Gebhardt, who won the individual competition with a 142.

Freshman Dalton Reese (Warrenton, Ga.) finished tied for 18th in the tournament after recording a 2-over-par 73 on Tuesday after shooting a 79 on Monday.  

Senior Rafael Jackson (Rutledge, Tenn.) finished tied for 46th place after shooting a 6-over-par 77 on Tuesday, three strokes better than his Monday effort.

Sophomore Corey Bray (Caryville, Tenn.) also had a lower score on Tuesday, shooting a two-stroke better 80 after an 82 on Monday.

Sophomore Nicklaus Kennedy (London, Ontario) finished tied for 85th after shooting an 8-over-par 79.

Carson-Newman will next play at the 2014 Bobcat Invitational hosted by Georgia College at Cuscowilla Golf Club in Eatonton, Ga. From March 17-18.
