Strudwick named U.S. Kids Golf Top 50 Teacher Honorable Mention

NORCROSS, Ga. – Carson-Newman women's golf coach Suzanne Strudwick received honorable mention recognition from U.S. Kids Golf for her work as a youth golf instructor at Fairways & Greens Golf Center in Knoxville and with the Eagles.

This is Strudwick's fifth such award from U.S. Kids Golf and is a part of a select group that earned honorable mention accolades among more than 500 applicants. The Top 50 Kids Teacher Award is administered by the U.S. Kids Golf Coaches Institute, a division of the U.S. Kids Golf Foundation located in Georgia.

This is not the first such award for the Cheshire, England native. In 2011, Strudwick was named the Tennessee PGA Junior Teacher of the Year. She was named the PGA Knoxville Junior Leader of the Year in 2012. Back in 2008, she garnered the PGA's Richard Eller Growth of the Game award in 2008, which recognizes the golf professional who has excelled in leadership, player development, and promotion of the game of golf to all sectors of players.

The Top 50 Kids Teachers of 2014 includes golf professionals from 22 states, Canada and Costa Rica. Each year, award recipients include teachers who work at public, private, resort and municipal courses.

Since 2004, U.S. Kids Golf has honored the best youth golf teachers with the Top 50 Kids Teacher Award. Applicants complete an online survey and winners are chosen based on their contributions to youth golf, such as: experience young golfers; time devoted to teaching youth; innovation, creativity and fun in their programs; communication; parental involvement; use of a well-organized instruction program and overall effort to grow the game.
