Kennedy leads third-place Eagles at North Georgia Fall Invitational

DAHLONEGA, Ga. – Two Carson-Newman men's golf team members are in the top-10 after the first day of the North Georgia Fall Invitational at Achasta Golf Club as the Eagles, who are in third-place on the leaderboard, are prepped for a final round run.

Junior Nick Kennedy's (London, Ontario, Canada) first-round 68 propelled him to one-day total, four-under 140 to sit tied for third-place while junior Andrew Hall (Knoxville, Tenn.) shot a one-under 143 and is tied for ninth.

"We played really well, we shot a 288 and 291 in difficult conditions on a championship course. I'm very pleased with our efforts," coach Randy Wylie said.

Georgia native Dalton Reese (Warrenton, Ga.) shot even par and sits tied for 20th with a two-over 146.

Freshman Steven Hill (Knoxville, Tenn.) used a second-round 73 to put him tied for 38th with a two-round total of 151. The Eagles' other freshman, Ben Kennard (Corryton, Tenn.), is tied for 64th.

The Eagles begin their ascent to the top of the leaderboard Tuesday morning during final round of the North Georgia Fall Invitational.
