Hall finishes tied for third at Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate

SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. – Carson-Newman junior Andrew Hall (Knoxville, Tenn.) finished the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate tied for third-place after a final round 74 at the Sevierville Golf Club's River Course.

Hall earned his third All-Tournament team award of the season and the second time he has done so at a tournament played at the River Course.

Hall finished the tournament at four-under, which is his best finish in a three-round tournament this season. The junior shot seven-under at the State Farm Intercollegiate in the fall, but that event was cut short due to rain on the last day.

"As a team, we struggled a bit today, too many doubles, too many three putts; things that we're continuing to work on improving. The tournament was a terrific tournament with a great field and I'm very proud of Andrew Hall for finishing in third-place. Andrew had a tremendous week," coach Randy Wylie said.

Sophomore Dalton Reese's (Warrenton, Ga.) played a card of 74. He finished the tournament with a four-over 220 total and finished tied for 37th. His four-over score is his exact score from the Smokey Mountain Intercollegiate.

Junior Nicklaus Kennedy (London, Ontario) had the Eagles' low-score on Tuesday with a one-over 73. He moved 10 spots up the scoreboard after shooting two rounds of 77 on Monday to a tie for 63rd. Kennedy improved his final round score for the second consecutive tournament.  He went from an 85 to 66 last month at the Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate.

Freshman Ben Kennard (Corryton, Tenn.) finished the tournament with a 78 to finish in 72nd-place. He shot a three-round total score of 14-over 230. Junior Nathan Hodge (Jefferson City, Tenn.) shot a final round 83 to finish tied for 74th with a score of 19-over.

The Eagles finished the tournament in 13th-place against a field comprised mostly of Division I teams.

Jacksonville State won the team competition by nine strokes over Southern Illinois and Murray State. The Gamecocks' Tomasz Anderson won the individual competition after shooting three rounds of below-par golf and he finished four strokes ahead of his teammate Pablo Torres.

The Eagles return to the course in two weeks as they travel to Lenoir City, Tenn. for the Tennessee River Ramble at Tennessee National Golf Club on March 30th and 31st.
