JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman (3-5-2) faces off against Milligan (4-7-1) tomorrow at 5 p.m. on McCown Field.

"This will be our last non-conference match up at the tail end of the season," Carson-Newman head soccer coach Richard Moodie said. "We are looking to get other players the opportunity for some playing time."

The Eagles are coming off a hard 1-0 loss to SAC opponent Newberry in double overtime last Saturday.

Newberry outshot C-N 18 to 15. Senior captain Tiarna McKenna (Lisburn, Northern Ireland) had seven saves on the match. She is tied for seventh in the conference for saves with 37.

Milligan faced similar defeat Saturday after falling 1-0 to Columbia College.

On Sept. 14, Milligan lost 2-0 to Trevecca Nazarene.

The Eagles played Trevecca Nazarene on Sept. 11 and lost 3-2. Trevecca went up by three goals before the end of the first half. Senior Captain Sam Thomsit (Trowbridge, England) put up the first point for C-N in the 69^th minute off a penalty kick.

Fourteen minutes later, junior captain Sidnee Edwards (Knoxville, Tenn.) sent a ball into the feet of Danna Stringle (Woodstock, Ontario, Canada) who put it into the back of the net to make the final score 3-2.

The Eagles outshot TNU 22 to 13. Stringle and Lauren Morelock (Abingdon, Va.) each took five shots and landed three on frame.

On Sept. 25, the Eagles toppled King 3-1 on the road. Stringle started the scoring in the 18^th minute with an unassisted goal, her second of the season.

After 32 minutes of play, Susann Kneifel (Schkeuditz, Germany) sent a free kick into the box. Thomsit got on the end of it and flicked it back post for a header goal.

Three minutes later, Kneifel put in a goal of her own when she capitalized off an errant kick taken by the keeper.

Stringle led the Eagles in shots having taken eight, three of which were on target.

Milligan lost 1-0 to King on Sept. 18.

Freshman Gabby Gianeselli (Knoxville, Tenn.) currently leads the Eagles in points with nine. She is tied for 16^th in the SAC.

Mikayla Gregg (Newport, Tenn.) follows closely behind with eight points while Edwards and Lizeth Munguia (Wilmington, NC) each have seven.

"Milligan has been up and down," Moodie said. "They have provided great contest over the years."

Last year, the Eagles defeated the Buffaloes 2-1. Teagan Wood opened the scoring in the 18^th minute off a ball from Kelsey Kind putting Milligan up by one.

Bianca Hall (Newcastle, England) got both goals for C-N, both unassisted. Her first goal came in the 26^th minute; she scored again in the 61^st.

"We are happy to host Milligan at McCown Field," Moodie said. "Hopefully we can pick up another win at home."
