Women’s soccer faces Trevecca in second home match

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman (0-0-1) takes on Trevecca Nazarene (0-2) at home on Wednesday, Sept. 11.

 

The Lady Eagles are coming off a 1-1 tie to the University of Alabama-Huntsville, a strong team in the Gulf South Conference. Mikayla Gregg (Newport, Tenn.) scored a volley off a perfect cross from freshman Gabrielle Gianeselli (Knoxville, Tenn.) to tie up the game late in the first half.

 

Freshman goalkeeper Katy Hill (Farragut, Tenn.) performed well in her first collegiate match saving 13 of 14 shots on goal including multiple one-on-ones.

 

Carson-Newman will welcome back to the pitch senior Danna Stringle (Woodstock, Ontario, Canada) and senior captain Sam Thomsit (Trowbridge, England) returning from injury to face the Trojans.
