MARS HILL, NC – Carson-Newman (4-5-3, 2-3-2 SAC) takes on Mars Hill (2-9-2, 1-6-1 SAC) tomorrow at 5 p.m.

"The girls are going to have a lot to do tomorrow," Carson-Newman head soccer coach Richard Moodie said. "It is a must win for us."

After 68 minutes of action, Alyssa Morris put one in the back of the net to bring Mars Hill back into the game with her first goal of the season. Twenty minute later, Leah Taylor tied it up off a deflected shot taken by Rachel Weber.

With three minutes left in overtime, Aerial Ellis crossed the ball into the box for Weber to finish for her fifth goal of the season claiming the victory for the Mountain Lions.

Last Saturday, Mars Hill fell to Queens 5-0.

On Sept. 26, the Mountain Lions fell at Lincoln Memorial 2-1. Weber contributed the lone goal by capitalizing on a 1v1 breakaway assisted by Hannah Russell.

The Eagles defeated LMU 3-2 in overtime on Oct. 9. Senior Lizeth Munguia (Wilmington, NC) scored both goals for C-N. Her first goal came in the first five minutes of the game off an unassisted free kick.

The Railsplitters put in two goals to take the lead. In the 79th minute, Munguia scored a diving header off a corner kick taken by freshman Gabrielle Gianeselli (Knoxville, Tenn.)

Seven minutes into overtime, Gianeselli picked up a rebound and arced it into the upper-90 for the golden goal victory.

Gianeselli currently leads the Eagles in points with 11. She has four goals and three assists.

"With Anderson beating Brevard," Moodie said, "it puts a lot of pressure on us to make it into the tournament."
