JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – The Carson-Newman women's tennis team toppled Virginia-Wise 9-0 in today's match.

C-N duo Jill Corsato and Mallory Jackson dominated Daria Tyschenko and Haley Thacker 8-0 at no. 1 doubles. Patricia Guerreiro (Portugal) and Jennifer Ott (Knoxville, Tenn.) brought home another point at no. 2 doubles with an 8-3 victory over Bailey Christoforato and Marti Gay.

Haleigh Chastain (Knoxville, Tenn.) and Brooke Sanderson (Evans, Ga.) teamed up to steal the last doubles point with an 8-1 final in the no. 3 spot.

C-N brought in all six singles points in two sets. Jackson took down Tyschenko 6-1, 6-2 at no. 1. In the no. 2 position, Corsato beat Thacker 6-0, 6-2.

Guerreiro came in at no. 3 with a 6-2, 6-3 contest over Christoforato. At no. 4, C-N's Sidney Ledington won 6-1, 6-1 against Gay.

In the no. 5 spot, Chastain brought in another point against Mary Jo Stallard 6-0, 6-2 while Ott supplied a 6-2, 6-1 decision over Junetta Nuckles at no. 6.

The Eagles kick off spring season February 7 at home against Young Harris at 1 p.m.
