Eagles host Newberry to open SAC play after long layoff

Eagles host Newberry to open SAC play after long layoff

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. — The Carson-Newman women's tennis team is set to take the court for the first time in nearly two weeks Sunday as they host the Newberry Wolves (6-2, 2-1) at 1p.m at the Carson-Newman Tennis Complex.

This will be the first South Atlantic Conference match of the season for the Eagles as they welcome the Wolves, who currently sit fourth in the SAC.

Inclement weather has forbid Carson-Newman from competing in their last three matches against Queens, University of the Cumberlands and Southern Wesleyan. With hard work from both Carson-Newman men & women's tennis teams, the court has been cleared and is ready to resume play.

Carson-Newman will look to improve on their 6-3 defeat from University of Alabama - Hunstville in its outing. Coach Jean Love was impressed with her team's effort and energy despite the loss. The Eagles will look to continue this trend with hopes of picking up their second win of the season this Sunday.
