JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. — Carson-Newman Women's Tennis will again take the court this Saturday at Alabama Huntsville with hopes of getting back on the winning track.

The Eagles are coming off a loss in favor of the Young Harris Mountain Lions last Saturday. In the contest, Carson-Newman was limited to two points overall, both coming in doubles.

"We always have a strong focus on doubles," Carson-Newman's lone senior Jennifer Ott said. "If we can come out and win two of the three in Doubles then we are ahead in the match, we are ahead in the fight."

Carson-Newman looks to improve in singles matches as they face an extremely talented Charger lineup which features three preseason All-Gulf South Coast selections.

"We hope to carry the momentum we have in doubles into the singles matches," Ott explained. "We have the nerves and the jitters out so we will try to go in there strong and rack up three or four singles matches.

Alabama Huntsville (0-1) is coming off a 5-2 loss to Belmont University. Marleen Gort, coming off a 12-4 overall singles record last year, will look to halt the Eagles's charge as she enters the day as the Chargers No. 1 singles player.

The match is set to begin at 1 p.m. and can be followed on cneagles.com/live.
