JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. — The Carson-Newman women's tennis team (3-3), who has won two of its last three matches, is set for a bout Wednesday afternoon in Tigerville, SC to take on North Greeneville University Crusaders (3-4) at 2 p.m.
Carson-Newman is coming off a 7-2 defeat of Anderson University on Monday.
The Eagles have looked impressive at times this season, but lack consistency in singles play. HCoach Jean Love believes this is a match to where her club can work on that, as well as other areas for the overall improvement of her team.
"This is a chance against a non-conference opponent to work on the process of competing and gaining some momentum before heading into this weekend and two big conference matches," Love said.
Carson-Newman will also look for doubles play to continue to strive, especially the No. 3 duo of Patricia Guerreiro (Portugal) and Jennifer Ott (Knoville, Tenn). The combination has compiled an undefeated record thus far in duels play at 5-0. The Eagles look to continue to relay on their strong play.
