Ott takes final bow as Eagles face Bulldogs

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. — The Carson-Newman Eagles (6-10) will take to the courts one last time this season when they travel to Tennessee Wesleyan (7-9) on Tuesday at 2 p.m.

The injury ridden Eagles will do look to end this season with a win and send off senior Jennifer Ott (Knoxville, Tenn.) who will be competing in her final match sporting the Orange and Blue.

"After 12 years of competing, it almost doesn't seem real that this is my last match," Ott said. "I honestly just want to soak up and enjoy the match and the time with my team as much as I can."

The Bulldogs have a lot to play for as well, as the match serves as their Senior Day for Kristen Camp. Camp, along with assistant coach Ekaterina Vezhenkova, has guided this team all season long that is largely comprised of underclassmen.

Vezhenkova, who was a member of the Tennessee Wesleyan tennis program just a year ago, had quite an impressive career in Athens. After finishing with a combined 31-3 singles record and a 27-7 doubles record, she was named as an NAIA All-American Honorable Mention following her senior season.

Ott, along with her fellow Eagle teammates, look to put forth their best efforts in seeking a win to close out their season.
