First Serve of C-N Season in Harrogate Against Young Harris

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman Men's Tennis begins its season with a neutral site showdown against Young Harris.

The Eagles will begin the 2025 season by taking on the Mountain Lions of Young Harris on the campus of Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee.

The Eagles have taken on Young Harris eight times since 2012 holding a 6-2 series lead in the record books, but the Mountain Lions have taken two of the last three meetings.

Young Harris has played in one match so far this season falling on February 4 on the road to North Georgia in a tight 4-3 affair.

The Mountain Lions play Carson-Newman in the second game of a doubleheader, taking on Lincoln Memorial at 9:00 a.m. earlier on Saturday.

The only doubles pair to win for the Mountain Lions was Samuel Guzon and Mason Harmon as YHC lost the doubles point. The two-spot in singles Caleb McCurry earned the first point for the Mountain Lions, with the singles out of the four and five spots, Mason Harmon and Greyson Williams, earning the other two points for Young Harris.

The Mountain Lions are coming off a 12-7 season last year and went a perfect 8-0 in Conference Carolinas play. The stellar conference play couldn't last for Young Harris as it fell 4-0 in the first round of the conference tournament to Mount Olive with three unfinished matches.

Carson-Newman looks towards the stellar play of Preseason All-SAC Marnix Van Dalen in its first match of the season. The Eagles play their first home game on February 22 against Union (Ky.) at 2:00 p.m.

First serve against Young Harris is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. at the Indoor Tennis Facility at LMU.
