JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman Men's Tennis has been picked to finish third in the South Atlantic Conference preseason poll.
The third-place projection matches the Eagles' finish last season. After completing the 2024 spring schedule, they had a 13-6 record and a 10-2 mark in conference play.
Carson-Newman earned 113 points in the poll, just five points ahead of rival Tusculum, who came in fourth.
The Eagles look towards preseason All-SAC First Team pick Marnix Van Dalen, who is coming off a 13-8 season last year, including a 9-5 record in the spring slate.
Wingate topped the poll with ten first-place votes and 142 points, while Catawba polled second with three first-place votes and 135 points.
The three L's of the conference, Lincoln Memorial, Lenoir-Rhyne, and Limestone, rang in fifth through seventh, respectively. While Anderson, Coker, and Newberry rounded out the top ten.
UVA-Wise, Mars Hill, and Emory & Henry are in the bottom half of the poll from 11th through 13th.
The SAC slate concludes this season in April at the SAC Tournament in Sumter, S.C.
Carson-Newman's spring season begins on February 8 in a neutral-site match against Young Harris on the campus of Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tenn.
