C-N Fights, but Falls Short on Day Two of ITAs

SUMTER, SC – The Eagles men's tennis team fought hard on day two of the ITA Championships but fell short in a few matches. 

Marnix Van Dalen and Gjorgji Jankulovski competed in the round of 32, and despite hard-fought matches, both fell short against seeded opponents.

(6) Aniss Rafiq (FLAG) def. (17) Gjorgji Jankulovski (C-N), 6-0/6-4

In doubles, the Eagles' pairing of Marnix Van Dalen and Paul Gayk kicked off the day with another win, taking down the 9-seed. C-N's duo played again in the round of 32 and, despite a spirited fight, came up short against the 4th-seeded duo out of Flagler College.

After a solid showing against stout competition, C-N will regroup and prepare for the UTR College Circuit Tournament in Jefferson City on October 11th and 12th.
