ROCK HILL, S.C. – Carson-Newman placed Lindsey Taylor (Maryville, Tenn.) on the South Atlantic Conference's preseason first-team, the league announced on Friday.
Taylor earns preseason first-team All-SAC honors for the fourth straight season.
In 88 games with Carson-Newman, the graduate student forward has scored 1,276 points, ranking 13th all-time on the career scoring list. She enters her final season nine points away from 12th and 83 away from tenth all-time. She has scored in double-figures in 74 of the 88 games she has played in.
The Maryville native is coming off a 2023-24 season where she scored 14.7 points per game on 59.8% shooting, the fifth-most efficient scorer in DII. Taylor has shot better than 57% in every season she has played in at Carson-Newman.
She scored in double-figures 25 times last season and nine 20-point nights and a pair of 30+ point games. Taylor raised her free throw percentage up to 66% in 2023-24, seven percent higher than her career average.
Taylor also was a high-level rebounder, grabbing seven per game for the ninth best rebounding team in DII. She had seven games with ten or boards and has 23 in her C-N career. Taylor led her team in rebounding in 13 different times.
