JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – After an 18-point road win this past Saturday, Carson-Newman (9-1, 6-1 SAC) dropped from fifth to sixth in the latest Women's College basketball media poll, while staying tenth in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association poll, both of which were released Tuesday afternoon.

This is the seventh week in a row that the Lady Eagles have been ranked and ranked inside the top ten of either poll. Staying at number ten in the coaches' poll, it's the fourth consecutive week that Carson-Newman has been ranked in the top ten by the WBCA.

In coach Mike Mincey's tenure, the program has now been ranked for 51 weeks holding 64-22 record when playing as a top 25 club. 

Between both polls, Carson-Newman is one of just two teams in the Southeast region ranked. North Georgia stays at No. 15 in the media poll with a 9-0 record and is ranked for the second time in the WBCA poll, moving up to No. 18. Carson-Newman plays at North Georgia on Saturday afternoon.

Conference Carolinas schools Belmont Abbey and UNC Pembroke are the only two teams receiving votes in the media poll from the Southeast region. Belmont Abbey, Coker and Francis Marion are three teams from the Southeast region receiving votes in the coaches poll.

The Lady Eagles lead the country in assists per game at 20.6 and are fifth nationally in assist to turnover ratio at 1.35.
