JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – In the latest polls, Carson-Newman (6-1, 4-1 SAC) has slid back six spots in the latest Women's Basketball Coaches Association poll to number 11 and back two spots to number six in the Women's College Basketball media poll sponsored by D2SIDA, both being announced late Tuesday.
C-N slides in this week's batch of rankings after suffering its first loss of the season to Anderson this past weekend.
This is the fifth week in a row that the Lady Eagles are ranked inside the top ten of either poll. C-N has been ranked in the top ten of the media poll all five weeks the poll has come out.
Between both polls, Carson-Newman is one of just two teams in the Southeast region ranked. North Georgia checks in at No. 20 in the media poll with a 5-0 record. North Georgia is receiving votes the second-most votes for non-ranked teams in the WBCA poll. Belmont Abbey and Columbus State also received votes in the WBCA rankings, but neither did in the media poll.
In coach Mike Mincey's tenure, the program has been ranked for 49 weeks holding 61-22 record when playing as a top 25 club.
