JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman (3-0, 1-0 SAC) is ranked in the top ten in both national polls. The Lady Eagles stayed put at No. 7 in the latest poll Women's College Basketball media poll, sponsored by D2SIDA and moved up to No. 9 in the latest Women's Basketball Coaches Association poll announced late on Tuesday.
For the third week in a row, the Lady Eagles are ranked in the top ten of the media poll, remaining at No. 7 and slides up five spots in the latest WBCA poll to No. 9.
Carson-Newman remains the highest ranked team in the Southeast region in both polls and is one of just three teams that are ranked in the separate polls. UNC Pembroke and Augusta are ranked no. 22 and 25 respectively in the media poll, while Columbus State is No. 23 in the WBCA poll.
It's the third straight week ranked in the top ten of the media poll and overall the 27th week ranked in the top ten in any major poll.
The move up to number nine in the WBCA poll is the second time in the past three seasons being in the top ten, when it was no. 9 to begin the 2022-23 season.
In coach Mike Mincey's tenure, the program has been ranked for 47 weeks holding 58-21 record when playing as a top 25 club.
The Lady Eagles are 3-0 for the 18th time in 44 seasons as a program. It's the eighth time in 14 seasons under head coach Mike Mincey that C-N has started a new season 3-0.
The current 16-game home winning streak is the program's second longest home winning streak and is the fourth longest active home winning streak in DII, and the best among teams in the Southeast region.
