JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman (15-5, 12-4 SAC) is receiving votes in the latest addition of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association poll that was released on Tuesday afternoon.
Carson-Newman is among seven other schools receiving votes in the coaches poll. C-N is third in the votes with 20, just behind Harding's 34 and Chowan's 22.
This ends a stretch where the Lady Eagles had been ranked for 11 straight weeks by the WBCA. They are still the only Southeast region school to be ranked or receiving votes in every poll this season.
The Lady Eagles are 70-26 all-time when playing as a top 25 club.
North Georgia is the highest ranked team from the Southeast region, moving up from seventh to fifth in this poll. Coker also moves up two spots from 14th to 12th. Belmont Abbey slides back from 21st to 24th in the poll.
Carson-Newman returns to action on Saturday at Lenoir-Rhyne. Tipoff between the Lady Eagles and Bears is set for 2:00 p.m. Coverage on the Eagle Sports Network begins at 1:45 with the AEC Countdown to Tipoff on MIX 105.5 (WSEV-FM, Sevierville) and online at cneagles.com/live.
