KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Carson-Newman women's soccer's program starts off 2017 ranked in the United Soccer Coaches Preseason poll.
The Eagles start the year ranked 25th following a 17-4-1 campaign a year ago.
Carson-Newman is coming off back-to-back South Atlantic Conference regular season and tournament championships, as well as a pair of appearances in the Southeast Region tournament.
Last year, the Eagles started out the season ranked 11th in the preseason poll.
Carson-Newman is the only South Atlantic Conference institution ranked in the preseason poll.
The Eagles are one of three schools from the Southeast Region featured in the rankings. Columbus State is ranked third and North Georgia 13th.
C-N opens the season Sept. 1 against Ferris State at 6 p.m. at Harvey Stadium.
