9th-ranked Eagles get ready for non-conference meeting with Clayton State

Game Notes v. Clayton State

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – The 9th-ranked Carson-Newman women's soccer team looks to continue their unbeaten streak of seven games when they travel to Chattanooga, Tenn. for a neutral site matchup with Clayton State at the Baylor School Soccer Complex.

Tomorrow's game will mark the first meeting between the two teams since 2006, and the first neutral site match in the series history which is led by C-N 4-3. Neither team has a victory on the road in those seven games.
"Just need to make sure it's as important to treat these games like home games," said Coach Simon Duffy. "It feels like forever since playing on the road but we will get back into our routine and we look forward to getting back on the field ready to play."

Clayton State (2-4) is a member of the Peach Belt Conference and were selected to finish sixth in the 11-team conference in the preseason polls. Carson-Newman (6-0-1) is 5-1 in the last five seasons against members of the PBC, outscoring opponents 27-4.

The Eagles faced PBC member Georgia College earlier this season, recording a 5-1 win.

Game time on Wednesday, Sept. 27 is set for 5:00 p.m.
