ROCK HILL , S.C. – Junior Magda Mosengo was awarded the ASTROTURF South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week as announced by the league office this morning, after helping the Eagles get off to a 2-0 start to the season over the weekend.

This marks the first career SAC Player of the Week award for Mosengo.

"It's always nice to be recognized outside of the university for the way you're playing," said Mosengo who compiled three goals and one assist in wins over Ferris State and Georgia College. "I am very very very happy to get the award this week."

The forward from London, England was involved in both goals in C-N's 2-0 over the Ferris State Bulldogs on Friday evening assisting Lauren Wade on the opening tally, and then putting one in the back of the net herself to seal the game late.

Less than 48 hours later, the junior followed up with two goals in a 5-1 victory over Georgia College, one of which ultimately proved to be the game winner.

"To be 2-0 right now is very thrilling," added Mosengo. "It was imperative that we set the tone for the rest of the season."

In its early stages, Mosengo is in a three-way tie for first in the SAC in goals (3) and points (7).
