Eagles set to finish away stretch against the Mocs

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman women's tennis travels to the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga on Tuesday to finish a three-match away stretch after a win against #12 Sewanee.

"We need to just finish strong," Coach Jim Frederick said. "We can't let what happened the day before affect anything that happens the day of preparation or the day of the match. And just control what we can control, something I've preached from day one."

The Eagles are riding with some momentum going into the match after coming off a 6-3 win against Sewanee on Sunday. They are now 3-2 on the season so far and look to grab another win in Chatt against the Mocs (4-2). The last record of the Eagles traveling to UTC was in April of the 1994 season where they fell 7-2.

The Chattanooga women's team is comprised of mostly underclassmen, having only three seniors out of eight players. There are two sophomores and the other three are newcomers this year for the Mocs.

The Eagles will travel to the Mocs' territory Tuesday morning and play at the new facilities that were completed just last year. The first match begins at 12 p.m., for more information and results check back on cneagles.com.
