JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman Women's Tennis puts its perfect conference record on the line against a team looking for its second conference win, and another undefeated team.
The Lady Eagles are coming off a 3-0 week with wins over Purdue Northwest, Tusculum, and No. 44 Coker. They take on Emory & Henry at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 25 at the Charles A. "Buddy" Catlett Tennis Complex, and hit the road for a Saturday, March 29 contest at No. 23 Wingate.
The Eagles sit at 8-2, 5-0 in the South Atlantic Conference with E&H visiting town sitting at 2-9, 1-6 in the SAC. C-N will face its biggest test of the season on Saturday visiting No. 23 Wingate who has yet to drop a conference contest sitting at 10-3, with a 6-0 SAC record.
The wins for the Wasps came against Johnson (Tenn.) and Mars Hill. Sabina Chernega leads the women with a 3-5 mark this spring in singles.
Wingate hosts Carson-Newman with both its men's and women's teams nationally ranked. The women have not lost a conference foe yet with all three non-conference losses coming against ranked opponents. Despite No. 1 singles starter Chloe Kosmrlj being 9-3 on the year, it is No. 3 starter Suzuka Sambyakugari having the best record at 10-2 this spring.
