JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman Women's Tennis has been picked to finish fourth in the South Atlantic Conference preseason poll.
The Eagles are tied with Newberry for fourth in the poll, with each program garnering 102 points.
Carson-Newman earns the fourth-place projection after an 11-8 spring season last year in which it went 8-4 in conference play.
Carson-Newman looks to Edisa Hot and Leah McBride, who were named as some of the SAC's "Players to Watch" during the spring slate.
Taking home gold, silver, and bronze in the conference's annual preseason poll are Wingate, Catawba, and Lenoir-Rhyne. The Bulldogs earned 11 first-place votes, while Catawba earned two.
Limestone, Tusculum, Anderson, and Coker follow the Eagles and Wolves deadlock to take places sixth through ninth, respectively.
At the bottom of the conference's poll are Lincoln Memorial, UVA-Wise, Emory & Henry, and Mars Hill, taking spots 10 through 13, respectively.
The SAC season culminates in April in Sumter, S.C., for the SAC Tournament at the Palmetto Tennis Center.
Carson-Newman begins its spring schedule on February 8 with a big test against Division I Tennessee State on the campus of Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tenn.
